Alcee Hastings has heard of Dunbar Village. Who knew?

From an article in the Sun-Sentinel:

At the Westside Park Community Center in Deerfield Beach, U.S. Rep. Alcee L. Hastings, D-Miramar, reminded a crowd of the problems that still plague South Florida, including a brutal gang rape last June at Dunbar Village in West Palm Beach."The challenges of today are reminiscent of past struggles," he said. "Many still don't have access to affordable housing, quality education or affordable health care and these struggles are especially exemplified by local tragedies, right up the street. The story of Dunbar Village is not unique. It's obvious that more action must be taken." (Read more here)

Will he attend the town hall meeting? We'd love to see you there representative. I bet Shane is STILL waiting on return phone calls from all THREE of his offices. All that staff and can't even deal with your own constituents?

Brother Hastings is heavily borrowing from the Thorpe For Congress P.E.A.C.E. initiative when he states, "Many still don't have access to affordable housing, quality education or affordable health care..." The Thorpe '08 P.E.A.C.E. initiative was developed in 2006 and is defined as follows: The 'P' stands for Prosperity, the 'E' stands for Education Reform, the 'A' stands for Access to quality Health Care, the 'C' stands for Community Development, and the 'E' stands for Economic Empowerment. I encourage you to visit http://marionthorpe.com/thorpe__08_press_releases/view/371/dr__marion_d__thorpe__jr__announces_p_e_a_c_e__initiative_for_florida_s_23rd_congressional_district to gain more knowledge about my P.E.A.C.E. initiative.

Rather than take brother Hastings to the mat for stealing my approach to fixing the many problems that exist in Congressional District 23 (CD 23), I simply ask you to consider the fact that Hastings has had 16 years in Congress to fix CD 23; yet, he has not fixed the problems of "affordable housing, quality education or affordable health care."

Plain and simple, CD 23 is in shambles at the hands of brother Hastings.

You have my word that I will deliver "A New Day, A New Way!" to the People of CD 23 once I am elected on November 4, 2008.

Sincerely,

Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr.

U.S. Congressional Candidate
District 23 - Florida
